The Basic 2 is an iterative update on the Basic Plus scale, upgraded with the feedback given to Timemore by its loyal customers. The Basic PRO has a thick and beefy silicone pad that encapsulates most of the scale. Whereas the Basic 2 has a thinner silicone pad that sits on top of the scale (same as the Basic Plus) Basic 2 vs Basic Plus Differences: The Basic 2 measures Flow Rate in addition to weight and a timer, this will help you drip a more consistent flow of water. The Basic 2 has an improved sensor accuracy and responsiveness. The Basic 2 has a silicone dust cover over the USB charging port.
