This is a vintage, pre-1960, Cast Iron Corn Stick Pan, with 7 spaces, a round hole on each end of the gently curved handles, and the H1 incised marking on the bottom of the pan, on the underside of one handle, flanking the two sides of the hole. There are two round, raised, small cast iron feet on the bottom of the pan, on the 1st and 7th corn shape at the narrow end of the form to allow the pan to rest evenly on the surface. It was common for most American cast iron manufacturers, like Wagner, Lodge, and Griswold, to make a line of cast iron that did NOT have their name on the bottom, that could be sold at everyday discount shops, like Montgomery Ward, to make it more affordable for a larger demographic of consumers. With this in mind, the shape of this corn stick pan, especially looking at the handles and the H1 font, has similarities to vintage Lodge (but, we are not experts, and don't want to mislead you - this is UNBRANDED, but has the potential to be a truly desired piece of vintage Lodge). Either way, this is a great piece of Americana that you can clean up and actually use, or simply add it to your collection! This pan is pre-1960 because in 1960, the Federal Trade Commission required cast iron manufacturers to put "USA" or "Made in USA" on their pans, indicating the country of origin; thus, the lack of this marking on this piece of cast iron indicates that it is was made before 1960, and is vintage. The size of this pan is 12 1/4 inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide and 3/4 of an inch tall. It weighs 4 pounds and 0.75 ounces. The condition is solid, with no breaks or cracks. It has aged seasoning that is still on the pan (even a tad sticky in a few small areas). There are areas of discoloration, clear evidence that this pan has been used, and maybe some` underlying rust (see photos). It has a beautiful black, brown, and gray patina, giving it a lot of character, if that is what you are looking for.
